Falcon Lake is off limits this week from Monday - Friday per the rules of Metro...The club tournament for September was held at Falcon Lake on the September 26th & 27th 2009.....
The weather was a mixed bag with sun, rain in places & light winds temperature ranged from 74-90+ degrees
Fishing was good even though it was tough to figure them out at times.
We had a couple of young guns come back to the club last meeting that were real hunger to go fishing and their results says it all, of course I am talking about Mike Roscoe & Danny Delahunt.
Not to be out done we also had a couple of Ole timers Charles Parchman & Steve (Doc) Ingram, they had very healthy stringers both days as well…
If everyone shares information I think we have a really good chance to do well at the city tournament this coming weekend as we had some great stringers this past tournament. I know folks are thinking that other clubs had great weights on there prefish tourneys as well.......... Well let me tell you one of the clubs that posted crazy weights was a Paper Tournament!!!!!!!! All the other clubs fished better weekends as I know I was there and if you look at the lunar BS you will see this past weekend it was the worst days of the month to fish; SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I think we did real good!!!!!!
I was informed of two patterns that were working for the following folks:
Mike & Danny were slowly swimming watermelon red lizards in and around 10' of water.
Charles Parchman told me he was using Strike King Sexy Shad color medium diver crankbaits in and around hardwoods in 5-8' of water.
Ngarm & I were Texas rigging up shallow early with watermelon red senkos & 10' worms, later in the day we moved out to 16-20' and Carolina rigged the same baits… Ngarm had 2 out deep that could not turn
Please share information on Friday evening with your compadres so we all have things to try if what we are comfortable with is not working!!!!!
We had 17 members plus one guest fish this tournament, total fish was 126, total weight was 367.86 lbs and the average fish weighed 2.92 lbs.
